God is among us
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
Calvary Chapel was founded in 1965 by Pastor Chuck Smith in Costa Mesa, California. It began as a small fellowship of 25 people and has since grown to become one of the largest and most influential Christian denominations in the United States and around the world. The original mission of Calvary Chapel was to be a place of “Bible teaching and worship” for new believers and those seeking a deeper understanding of the Bible.
Calvary Chapel is known for its informal atmosphere, expository teaching, and contemporary worship style. Over the years, Calvary Chapel has grown to include local congregations and affiliated ministries in many countries around the world. In addition to the original mission of teaching and worship, Calvary Chapel has become a major force in evangelism and missions.
Today, Calvary Chapel supports over 2,000 churches and ministries in over 100 countries, making it one of the largest networks of churches in the world. Calvary Chapel is a Bible-based, nondenominational church that emphasizes the life-transforming power of Jesus Christ. Calvary Chapel’s core values include a focus on the Bible, a commitment to worship, and a passion for missions. The Calvary Chapel movement
